At Pallas Athena Consulting, I empower mission-driven organizations to achieve their fullest potential through values-aligned, equity-centered strategies and project management. With a commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusion, I partner with organizations to navigate complex challenges, strengthen internal systems, and drive impactful change. Drawing on over a decade of experience at the intersection of political advocacy, technology, nonprofit strategy, and organizational transformation, I craft tailored solutions that support sustainable growth and deepen social impact. Through my work, I help create more equitable, effective, and resilient organizations committed to positive, lasting change.
I’m Kara Sanders, a solutions-driven leader with over a decade of experience in strategy, project management, business analysis, and process improvement. As a certified PMP and Scrum Master, I specialize in leading complex initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and align with long-term organizational goals.
Currently, I serve as Principal at Pallas Athena Consulting, where I work with nonprofits on strategic planning, project management, risk management, business continuity, and organizational growth. I’m passionate about fostering collaborative environments and excel at facilitating workshops, coaching teams, and implementing technology strategies that drive engagement and ensure compliance.
My cross-sector background includes work with nonprofits, technology organizations, and political campaigns, where I’ve consistently delivered meaningful results. I also volunteer with the Portland Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI), supporting the professional development of emerging leaders in the local project management community.
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in the Portland metro area, where I draw inspiration from the region’s natural beauty. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, reading, and painting—creative outlets that help me recharge and stay grounded.
